The School District of Palm Beach County is a national leader in providing innovative learning opportunities to help students reach their highest potential. Our District provides families with a variety of school choice options and encourages parents/guardians to learn more about these opportunities. Explore the school choice options below that are available during the published application windows:

Explore more than 125 elementary, middle and high schools offering Choice and Career Academy Programs. Representatives from each school will be available to provide information regaqrding Choice program opportunities for the 2025-2026 school year. This event is open to the public and free of charge.

Request for Student ID: [starting October 1, 2024]
To register your child for the current 2024-2025 school year, please contact yourzoned school.

In order to submit a Choice application, a Palm Beach County Student ID is required. This request for a Student ID number is for the purposes of submitting a Choice application, only. If your child has previously been associated with any district school/charter school, Home Education or Exceptional Student Education (ESE), your child should already have been assigned a Student number. If you are seeking immediate enrollment in a school, please contact your zoned school directly. If at any time you choose to enroll your child in a School District of Palm Beach County school, you are required to complete a 'New and Returning Student Registration' form and provide the school with updated documents. Allow up to 10 business days for your request to be processed.To register your child for the current 2024-2025 school year, please contact your zoned school.Requests for the 2025-2026 school year for the purpose of submitting a Choice applicationwill be accepted starting October 1, 2024.

Choice Programs: [November 4, 2024- January 31, 2025*] The Choice application for the 2025-2026 school year will be available Monday, November 4, 2024.Choice programs offer the opportunity for students to discover their talents and explore their interests while focusing on academic rigor. Applications are accepted for assignments the following school year. In-house programs are available only to students residing within the school attendance zone. The selection of students is a lottery-based process. All applicants must have a Student ID to submit an application. *Programs requiring an Audition has an earlier application deadline of December 6, 2024.

If your child has been assigned to a program in a previous year's lottery, you do not need to reapply to that same program for next school year. You can confirm your enrollment status with the Choice coordinator if needed.

Choice Program Application Deadline Dates:

December 6, 2024: All Arts programs requiring an Audition as part of eligility determination:
A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Bak Middle School of the Arts, Boynton Beach Community High School (Arts programs), The Conservatory School @ North Palm Beach (grades 6-8 programs), West Boca Raton Community High School (Arts programs)

January 31, 2025: All other programs not requiring an Audition for eligibility determination.

Controlled Open Enrollment:[April 14, 2024 - May 31, 2025]Controlled Open Enrollment allows students to apply for and attend a school outside their regular attendance zone. Pursuant to F.S. 1002.31, the SDPBC will allow a parent from any school district in the state of Florida whose child is not subject to a current expulsion or suspension, to apply for an assignment to an available school for the following school year. The selection of students is a lottery-based process. All students seeking an assignment in an available school should apply through Open Enrollment.The lottery results will be released at 4:00 pm on Monday, June 9, 2024.
